Dr. Ozioma Okonkwo authored two manuscripts recently accepted for publication:
“A Protocol for the Inclusion of Minoritized Persons in Alzheimer’s Disease Research From the ADNI3 Diversity Taskforce” (lead author) was published in JAMA Network Open. It highlights the structure, successes, and lessons learned from the ADNI-3 Diversity Taskforce.
“The Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative-4 (ADNI-4) Engagement Core: A Culturally-Informed, Community-Engaged Research (CI-CER) Model to Advance Brain Health Equity” (senior author) was accepted for publication in Alzheimer’s & Dementia as part of the journal’s ADNI 20th Anniversary Special Issue collection that is coedited by Professor Ozioma Okonkwo, Professor Monica Rivera Mindt, and Professor Mike Weiner. The article lays out the rationale, scope of work, deliverables, and initial success of the ADNI-4 Engagement Core in increasing the enrollment of underrepresented populations into ADNI-4.
Congratulations to Dr. Okonkwo, Dr. Joe Strong, and all others who contributed to these two manuscripts!
